Ceremonial Cacao Facilitation

An ancient Mayan prophecy states that when the Earth and its people are out of balance cacao will come out from the rain forest to open people's hearts and restore harmony to Earth.

Ceremonial grade Cacao has a rich and spiritual history. Drunk for thousands of years in South American countries where it grows for usage in ceremony and in battle. Ceremonial cacao is made from the beans of the cacao pod. They are fermented and then very lightly roasted so their chemical composition remains intact and then handmade into a paste which is called the cacao liquor.

It’s the chemical compounds in cacao that make it the perfect plant medicine for journeying deep into the mind and the heart. Cacao is considered a superfood because it contains so many antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. It is also an adaptogen which means it meets you were you are at physically and works with you to bring balance and harmony to your system.

It contains Iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium and copper which all support cardiovascular health. The theobromine stimulates the cardiovascular system, relaxes the soft muscle tissue and dilates the blood vessels. It aids mental focus as well as elevating your mood.

Phenethylamine and Anandamide induce feelings of love and bliss as well as stimulating the brain to release dopamine while the Tryptophan increases serotonin levels in the brain. All of these magical chemicals work together to put you in the perfect body relaxed mind awake state for meditating and journeying. Cacao also contains inhibitors and blockers that slow down the bodies process of breaking down these feel good chemicals which leaves you in a suspended state of love and bliss for longer.

Drinking Ceremonial cacao is a scared practice. We honour the plant spirit and those that harvest it so we may work with its beautiful energy. On a spiritual level it works with the energy of the heart chakra to break through any blockages or stagnation. I have received my most profound messages and healing while working with this magical plant medicine.

There are so many scientific studies out there that confirm that ceremonial cacao has a huge amount of physical and mental health benefits from relieving menstrual pain to easing depression.

Cacao is pure magic. I know this as since drinking it consistently both my life, and I, have dramatically changed. It’s energy has supported me to reveal the truth of who I am and what I am capable of. Before I cultivated my daily practice I had drunk ceremonial cacao a few times before in my life but never really connected to it. It was so bitter and just didn’t taste like the over processed, jacked up on sugar hot chocolate I was accustom to.

Confectionary chocolate is junk food. Cacao is a superfood. It is sacred plant medicine, not to be taken for granted or drank mindlessly.

In 2020 I joined a three week challenge where I swapped to my morning coffee for a cup of cacao. It was the perfect time to create a ritual. The whole world was loosing its shit so cultivating connection to the self seemed key.

I created a morning ritual for myself. Cacao. Meditation. Breath. I notice an immediate difference. I felt naturally elevated, relaxed and present. I felt great and I’ve never looked back.

I encourage anyone who wants to become more connected to themselves and create a mindful daily cacao practice. It’s also incredible for exploring creative energy and connecting to the heart.
